Moroccan Runner Rugs
Moroccan Runner Rugs — Handmade Berber Wool
A runner is one of the few rug shapes where fit matters more than almost anything else — too narrow and it disappears, too wide and it fights the walls on either side. Our Moroccan runners are hand-knotted by Berber artisans in the Atlas Mountains, the same weavers behind our full collection, sized specifically for hallways, kitchens, entryways, and staircases where a standard rectangular rug won't fit.
Where a Runner Works Best
- Hallways — the single most common use for a runner, softening long narrow spaces that otherwise feel cold and echoey
- Kitchens — placed in front of the sink or stove, wool naturally resists staining better than most people expect
- Staircases — a runner on stairs adds grip and quiets footsteps, on top of the visual warmth
- Entryways — the first thing guests step onto, and often the first real style statement in a home
Handmade, Not Mass-Produced
Every runner in this collection is hand-knotted one at a time by a Berber weaver in the Atlas Mountains cooperative we work with directly — the natural width and length variations you'll see between individual rugs are part of what makes a hand-knotted piece real, not a manufacturing flaw. If you need a length that isn't listed, we also make custom-sized runners — see our custom rug page for details.
